Alyssa M. Heppner's Obituary
Alyssa M. Heppner, age 24 of Batesville, died Saturday, October 24, 2015. Born September 12, 1991 in Cincinnati, she is daughter of Leslie Englund and Darren Heppner.
Her family will remember her for her loving heart and wanting the best for those she loved. They described her as adventurous, which may explain why she learned to ride a bike without training wheels at the age of three and getting on the frozen lake at the Taulbee house during winter. It appears she tempted the ice one too many times, so the story goes. Alyssa liked scary movies, watching Law & Order and going sledding. She also enjoyed baking cookies as well as old time rock and roll. While in high school, girls Wednesday night out was a favorite event and usually ended with a dinner of chicken and rice. She apparently was also very partial to macaroni and cheese and cottage cheese. Time with her dad growing up was dear to Alyssa. She would go fishing with him and helped him restore a vintage GTO. Most important to her though, was her beloved daughter Bailey.
She is survived by her daughter Bailey Wittmer; mother Leslie Englund of Sammamish, Washington; sister Amber Heppner of Batesville, half sister Olivia Englund of Seattle, Washington; grandfather Jerry Heppner of Batesville, lifelong care giver Cecelia Taulbee as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father.
Visitation is Thursday, October 29th, from 9 - 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services follow at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Stan Pondo officiating. Alyssa will be cremated following services and a private burial will be held in St. Louis Cemetery. The family requests memorials to the City of Refuge Rehabilitation Program.
