My husband worked with Buddy for many years. I was actually only in his company a few times, but felt I knew him through Denny's nightly recap of his day's activities. There have been more Buddy Riley stories around my dinner table than you can imagine...each one better than the last. What a guy!All men die...only some men live...Buddy lived! My heart goes out to the Riley family! I have never met a family that welcomes people of all kinds in and have a beer and a story. Believe me, there were some stories too! Kathy, you have got to be one, if not thee strongest woman i have ever met! I hope when time comes for me to pull all my strength to get me thru whatever circumstance is before me that i can pull it off with such dignity and poise as you have. You are the WOMAN! As a native of Batesville, I knew Buddy Riley. I am a huge IU fan and always noticed his UK decorations at your house...even though I am an IU fan, I always enjoyed seeing his 'love' for his school displayed!!! He had a zest for life and truly enjoyed it to the core...something a lot of people don't do and he was lucky he found that 'true' enjoyment of life! It seems unfair that he was taken from his worldly life too soon, but it is a sweet blessing that he truly enjoyed life so much while he was here.

Kathy, When I first heard of Buddy's diagnosis, I lifted you and your family up in prayer. Now I lift you up again for God to give you strength to get through this. I had the privilege of knowing and working with Buddy for most of my life. I can't think of a time he did not make me laugh and enjoy his company. Buddy (and Kathy) were my saviors when my husband Ronnie Spears died 22 years ago. We share many, many wonderful memories! Mushroom hunting, Coon hunting, fishing, motorcycles, etc... Although I haven't seen Buddy and Kathy much through out the past years, each time I would stop by, I was welcomed with open arms and have always felt like family.
