Sorry to hear about the passing of Gary. He used to play softball many years ago and help coach the girls softball team that some of my friends and I used to play on. My condolences to all of the Wettering family. Gary was a lifelong friend for 60+ years and I am so very grateful for having known him. I have not lived in Batesville since Gary graduated from high school and we went our separate ways. He always managed to keep in touch, Gary traveling to both Georgia and most recently to Florida to visit. I was in Batesville this past week and ran into Gary Tuesday on his morning walk through town, we talked and planned on getting together the next day. As fate would have it, Gary was rushed to the hospital before we got to his house. I had a chance to see my friend Gary grow from the well earned nickname "Wildman" into a loving father and grandfather. We will miss you my friend, my life has been better for having known you.
