Eric and Brian, you have my condolences on the death of your father. I was never in one of "Howie's" art classes, but your dad would still say hello in the halls. I was always a bit envious of those who took your dad's classes after hearing the many stories of fun related by those who were fortunate to be in them.
To Eric, Brian and Vicars Family,Although we couldn't be there in person, we are grieving with you in losing someone as special as Howie. As you know, Howie was like a second father to me and 'Howie's on the Hill' a second home. To Howards family, you have my deepest sympathy. Howard came to Batesville my sophmore year in High School. Even though I did not have him as a teacher in Art, with his backup support for most of the sports, I came to know and respect Howard. He was one of the teacher in the shool system that just about every student liked. Most of us became good friends of Howard after graduation. He always came to our class reunions. He was just a very personal guy you loved to be around.Howard left his mark of friendship with a lot of kids in his 37 years. He will be remembered by a lot of people. There are not many people that are remember by so many unless their some kind of celebrity. Howard was a celebrity to us though.
John & I send our deepest sympathies on the loss of your father and father-in-law. I will always cherish the fond memory of our meeting in Key West at your wedding, dancing under the stars and celebrating our birthday together. Howie was a darling!
