Pat was my favorite instructor, both professionally and personally. I remain an expert in psychology due to her wisdom. Although challenging academically, she was a champion for those most vulnerable, advocating without enabling. She was never afraid to be assertive, and I still credit her example with my ability to navigate as a peer with others in the medical profession. She also was not hesitant to lend an ear and advice for personal issues. She helped me extract from an unhealthy relationship and kept clear strategies for a no-nonsense approach to limit setting! In later years Pat seemed so happy to visit and share her knowledge in whatever context I was pursuing. She will always live on through me and those I am able to advocate for!
