Pauline "Polly" Cook Joscelyn
Rita and I were in the hospital at IU Medical Center in 1954 when we both had polio, just 6 months before the vaccine was available. I felt sorry for her because she had small children and had to deal with taking care of her family, after having polio. She was about 25 years old at the time and I was 16. We had a wonderful time visiting there in the ward, along with a couple of other women who had polio, and several with a mixture of other illnesses. She was a warm sweet young woman, and I still have pictures she sent me of her family.
I send my sincerest condolences to all the family. I know she loved her family dearly.
Sincerely,
Pauline "Polly" Cook Joscelyn
