Rosemary Fullenkamp's Obituary
Rosemary Fullenkamp, age 85 of Oldenburg, died Thursday, February 13, 2014 at St. Andrew’s Health Campus. Born November 9, 1928 in Batesville, she is the daughter of Estella (Nee: Youngman) and Joseph Wettering. She married Norbert Fullenkamp September 9, 1950 at St. Louis Church in Batesville and he preceded her in death August 24, 1974. She was a member of Holy Family Church and the Batesville Post #3183 Ladies VFW Auxiliary. Rosie worked as clerk and carrier for the Batesville Post Office 26 years before retiring in 1994. She was proud of the fact she became Batesville’s first female employee. She dearly loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and spending time with them. Rosie, a bit of a sports junkie, liked watching sports on TV in addition to being an avid Notre Dame football and I.U. basketball fan. Her family kind of teased about her recently starting to watch Daniel Boone and The Big Valley on the ME T.V. channel, but nobody teased about her cooking. An excellent cook and baker, her family fondly recalls her BBQ, ham salad, cherry breeze and carrot cake. She was also a talented crocheter. Rosie is survived by her daughters Patricia Suhre of Indianapolis, Indiana, Deborah Dickey of Florence, Kentucky; sons Thomas and Jon Fullenkamp, both of Batesville; sister Sally Miller of North Redington Beach, Florida; brother Leo “BZ” Wettering of Batesville; grandchildren Katie, Kevin, Lee, Jill, Maddi, Joseph and great grandchildren Olivia, Jackson, Gwen, Isabella and Cody. In addition to her husband and parents she is also preceded in death by her sister Marie Bland and brothers Harry, Carl and Robert Wettering. Visitation is Tuesday, February 18th, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 19th, at Holy Family Church with Rev. David Kobak O.F.M. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family requests memorials to the Hospice of Margaret Mary Health or the Ripley County Humane Society.
